Authentic Edo period original, c.1838, Japanese erotic art shunga woodblock print picture by Keisai EISEN (1790-1848).  From the shunga series, Shunshoku hana no shizuku (Erotic Drops of Flower Petals).  Deluxe shunga picture measures 22.5 cm x 27 cm.  Very good colors and impressions, along with black lacquer, mica (metallic pigments), and gauffrage.  Condition is good with some wear and soiling, the heaviest of it at bottom corners.  No backing.  Please see and judge from photos.
 
This is no-doubt one of the best winter shunga scenes in the entire genre.  It also has its own title, "'Drops of Melting Snow' (Yukidoke no shizuku).  A woman wearing a heavy over-kimono (shikake), hood (zukin), and tall geta has a tumble in the snow with her lover.  Her umbrella acts as a shield against the cold.  The insert image (koma-e) illustrates a village and bridge scene with the inscription, 'all covered in snow.'"  excerpt from P.166 of Japanese Erotic Fantasies by Chris Uhlenbeck and Margarita Winkel.
