This very rare lithograph is part of the authentic original, 1st edition series from 1972 of “Mishima Gō gashū Wakamono” (三島剛画集 若者), (Mishima Go Picture Book of Young Men), showcasing the artist's striking depictions of Japanese youth.  Mishima Go was a trailblazer during the Showa era, renowned for his evocative portrayals of the Japanese male figure.  His work captures the complex emotions of loneliness, melancholy, and strength, resonating deeply with themes of individuality and the minority experience at the advent of Japanese gay culture.

Published in 1972, these works reflect Mishima's ability to balance traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern, raw expressiveness, continuing to captivate audiences worldwide.  His art remains influential to this day, inspiring countless artists devoted to exploring themes of identity, emotion, and the representation of gay culture in art.
